Independence Day in the Time of Coronavirus

U.S. Independence Day

As we’re approaching the 4th of July during the pandemic, we decided to ask our website visitors about their holiday plans. We wanted to know if coronavirus is going to affect how people will spend this day, and whether their political preferences play any role in their festive and precaution choices. 1,208 website visitors took part in the survey conducted June 15-June 19, 2020 on Nuwber.com. Interesting insights spotted, like:

  • Republicans (52%) are 3.5x more likely to socialize and meet other people than Democrats (15%).
  • Democrats are 4x more likely (13%) to attend a virtual gathering than Republicans (4%).
  • Republicans (19%) are 6 times more likely to skip coronavirus precautions than Democrats (3%).
  • Republicans are almost twice as likely to use patriotic elements like flags, streamers and balloons during the celebration than Democrats (63% vs. 35%).

Dig deeper into this data to learn more about how political views may impact the way people plan to celebrate the holiday.
